GATHERING INFORMATION

The inaugural GORM Gathering will take place on our 4th birthday on October 12th 2024 (see our agenda here) in The Complex, Dublin. The theme of the conference is Changing Narratives. Attendees should plan on the following conference hours:

Tickets were priced to make the gathering as accessible as possible to a wide range of attendees. GORM does significant fundraising to provide different fee levels as well as full ticket allowances.
Please select the highest level that your organisation or you are able to afford. In this way, we are able to stretch our resources further and provide additional high quality content and more allowances to those who would otherwise not be able to attend.

TICKET ALLOWANCES
A limited number of tickets allowances (aka. Free Tickets) will be available for those who may not be able to afford or have the means to pay for the Main Event Only.

Ticket Allowances for the GORM Gathering 2024 are distributed on a rolling basis. Tickets Allowances will be distributed until September 12 2024, 11.59pm.

In the lead-up to the GORM Gathering, we are thrilled to offer 3 pre-event workshops designed to equip attendees with expert skills.

Our aim for The GORM Gathering is to ensure accessibility for all who wish to participate and to facilitate attendees in engaging fully with the event. We are committed to continually improving our efforts towards accessibility and disability justice. Attendees who require mobility aids are encouraged to bring their canes, walkers, or wheelchairs to the gathering. Our venue is designed to accommodate everyone, ensuring comfortable movement and the ability to fully immerse yourself in the experience we have curated.
Physical Accommodations:
The Venue is fully accessible with lifts and accessibility ramps to the conference room.
A Live Audio Captioning Service will be used to provided for the film screenings and live conversations.
Non-Physical Accommodations:
A quiet room will be available for those who need it throughout the event.
There will be two entrances, a bar entrance, and a non-bar entrance for those who wish not to pass through a bar.
Earplugs and face masks will be provided.

Dress Code:
We encourage attendees to come in whatever makes them comfortable. Inappropriate attire such as nudity is not allowed.
Fragrance-Free:
At The GORM Gathering, we are committed to creating a comfortable environment for all attendees, including those with fragrance sensitivities or allergies. We kindly request that all attendees refrain from using scented products such as perfumes, colognes, and heavily scented lotions during the event.
Food:
Refreshments are included with your ticket. We will also cater for all dietary requirements, please let us know in advance so we can organise this. The venue is also close to many cafes, restaurants and shops should you prefer to get your own lunch.

Quiet Room:
A quiet room will be provided for attendees seeking a quiet space for reflection, meditation or prayer.
Photo and Video Usage:
We will be documenting The GORM Gathering to share our message of unity across differences By attending the event, you agree to the use of any photographs, recordings, or videos for promotional and educational purposes.
Health & Safety:
We prioritise the health and safety of our attendees and encourage compliance with guidelines provided by the Complex, Dublin. While COVID-19 precautions are in place, including masking and vaccination recommendations, we ask everyone to remain vigilant in protecting the well-being of our community.
Gender Neutral Bathrooms:
Gender-neutral bathrooms will be available throughout the venue to ensure all attendees feel comfortable and respected.
Conference Medium of Language:
The GORM Gathering will be presented in English. Post-conference recordings will be accessible on our YouTube page, with options for translation through YouTube's function.

Do you want to be a volunteer?
As a volunteer, you will assist with various tasks such as event setup and teardown, registration, guiding attendees, managing workshops, supporting panel discussions, and providing general assistance throughout the day. Your dedication and enthusiasm will help us promote narrative change in the Irish media and create an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
Volunteers get to attend the event completely free.
