Beatriz Gómez Moreno (aka Bea) has been appointed the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of GORM. With her impeccable credentials and profound dedication to social justice and human rights, Bea brings a wealth of experience, insight and knowledge to this new role. Her appointment marks a significant milestone in GORM's journey as a social enterprise with a mission to spark a movement of unity across lines of difference.

Bea is a Spanish Social and Cultural psychologist, who graduated with a First Class Honours from the Erasmus Mundus Master in the Psychology of Global Mobility, Inclusion and Diversity in Society. Her academic journey, marked by excellence and a passion for social change, has set the stage for her impactful work in GORM.

Bea’s research is a testament to her commitment to creating a more inclusive world. Her focus on media representation of vulnerable groups, especially within the charity landscape, highlights her dedication to understanding and addressing the complex issues of stereotypes, prejudice development, and solidarity actions. Her work is directly applicable to the work of GORM and provides invaluable insights and expertise in shaping GORM incentives.

For over a decade, Bea has been at the forefront of diversity and inclusion project management, programme execution and team management, collaborating with international organisations. Her work has centred on providing psychosocial support to vulnerable communities, with a primary focus on migrants and people with refugee status. Her journey has taken her across continents, from Spain to Uganda, Germany, and Ireland, where she has made a lasting impact on the lives of those she has worked with.

Bea dedication to social change goes beyond her academic and professional roles. She is the co-founder of the Latino-European Social Psychological Network, a platform that focuses on migration, displacement, and inclusion. Additionally, she is actively involved with the Global Minds Alumni Association, furthering her mission to create a more inclusive and diverse society.

Her contributions have not gone unnoticed, with research projects funded by prestigious institutions such as Science Foundation Ireland and the Irish Human Rights & Equality Commission. Bea work has had a tangible and positive effect on the communities she serves, and her commitment to effecting meaningful change is unwavering.

A New Chapter for GORM

As GORM's COO, Bea takes on a pivotal role in the organisation's journey. Her responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day operations, executing strategic objectives, and ensuring the sustainability of the intercultural competence training stream. This stream, focused on traded income and the social enterprise model, is central to GORM's mission of promoting diversity and inclusion in Irish society and beyond.

Bea's appointment represents a significant step forward for GORM. Her unique blend of academic excellence, real-world experience, and unwavering commitment to social change align perfectly with our values and objectives. With Bea as COO, GORM is poised to reach new heights in its vision to spark a movement of unity.
