THE WIDESHOT PROGRAMME

The Wideshot Programme offers a compelling series of workshops, educational experiences, training sessions, and captivating events centred around the realm of digital storytelling and creative multimedia skills. This programme inspires young people aged 18-30 in Ireland, our focus is particularly on nurturing talents from migrant and ethnically diverse backgrounds.

The Wideshot Programme serves as a powerful catalyst, not only equipping young individuals with the essential tools to amplify their voices and share their unique narratives through the captivating mediums of film and creative media, the programme also offers pathways to into the media industry.

We are now taking applications for our 2024 programme from young people who want to kickstart their careers.

COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS

Facilitated by experienced film and media artists and practitioners, The Wideshot community workshops provide a hands-on introduction to the art of storytelling through multimedia.

Over 6 workshops in location Dublin and Limerick, participants will delve into the fundamentals of film production, gain insights into creative techniques, and unlock their potential in an interactive and supportive environment.

Whether you're a budding filmmaker or simply curious about the magic of media, our workshops offer a unique opportunity to learn, collaborate, and ignite your passion for visual storytelling.

Meet the Team

The Wideshot Summer Residency selects eight lucky young people who took part in the community workshops to participate in an immersive filmmaking experience. This residency empowers selected young people to harness their potential in creative media and digital storytelling through in-depth mentorship, on-site training with professional equipment, studio tours and collaborative teamwork. Aligned with their personal narratives and the skills they have learned over the workshops, these young people will be challenged to collaboratively create and showcase a short film in six days.

2024 Mentors included, Ala Buisir, Joshua Donoghue, Eilish Kent, Sofia Tamburini, Pete Moles, Ethan Donoghue and more.

With the support of The Wideshot Media Partners, these young people will also be offered traineeships and internships in the industry.
