IN IRISH PUBLIC SECTOR
Irish public sector entities are mandated by the Public Sector Duty to prioritise human rights, eliminating systemic inequalities and discrimination within their organisations. Recognising the diverse reality of present day Ireland, this GORM research project and report, supported by the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission, addresses Intercultural Competence in 4 Public Sector Organisations in Ireland. Goals include a needs assessment, collaboration with public organisations, data analysis for an intercultural competence training, and widespread dissemination. Targeting minority communities, the initiative, led by cultural and social psychologists, aims to enhance intergroup dialogue, fostering genuine inclusivity in the public sector and the communities they serve.
This project has received funding from the Irish Human Rights and Equality Grants Scheme as part of the Commission's statutory power to provide grants to promote human rights and equality under the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission Act 2014.
